Alice’s Adventures in … Ballet?

I stumbled across these amazing videos on youtube of the The Royal Ballet’s new 2011 production of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon.

I am a huge fan of ballet (and dance in general), so when two things I love are combined, I get really excited. Alice in Wonderland is possibly the best known piece of literature coming out of Oxford and tributes to the book and its author are scattered in various place throughout the city.

Here are some clips of the recent production in London. Unfortunately, I missed the event, but if the videos truly resemble the ballet, then it must have been one extraordinary show: a perfect combination of music, athletic ability, storytelling and humour.
