Bringing reading to life

It’s brilliant to see children meet their favourite author or illustrator: it creates such a lot of energy and enthusiasm, and of course they come up with some great questions!   You can immediately tell that it helps reading come alive for them.

OUP children’s authors and illustrators are taking part in a series of events as part of the Bookfeast Schools’ Festival at the Pitt Rivers Museum in Oxford next week (22-25 May), for primary school children from across Oxfordshire.

Blue Peter award-winner Ali Sparkes starts things off for us on Wednesday (23rd). Sarah McIntyre offers an insight into picture book illustration on Thursday, and we finish the week with Gill Lewis on the Friday (you can find out more about Ali, Sarah, and Gill – as well as our other authors and illustrators – on our author pages)

Bookfeast is all about encouraging people – any people – to want to read more. They have a whole range of events for different age groups – find out more at
